It's basically a cash grab for those of us in populated areas where our lines are most probably already FTTN ready. If the tech come and you already have a splitter installed, just ask for the splitter as a spare part, think it cost around $75 for one them ! ...LoL

I did but the guy said no.

He looked at the old Corning POTS splitter that I'd bought on eBay many years ago and said it would work fine on ADSL/VDSL so I didn't need a new one. I was in a hurry so I didn't try to argue.

I'm in a similar boat.

Supposed to get a tech visit today for 50/10, but the connection has been "working" since 9 this morning. - I say "working" because the speeds seem a bit slow.
