 | MLPPP in SW Ontario I have been trying to get MLPPP (bonded DSL) for my business to obtain faster speeds. I have heard, using a cisco router with a few providers creates and expensive overhead, troubleshooting issues and it doesn't seem to be able to work properly from what I've heard. Any idea's, suggestions on a prodiver? |

Start, TekSavvy, Acanac and a few others offer the MLPPP service. |

 | Okay, thanks for the tip. I have heard different things regarding this service. Any advice, on what to expect. there are providers out there offering "up to 24 down and 3.2 up" Which I'm guessing is only as good as the lowest dsl pair they are connecting? For instance, I am getting 5.2down on my DSL, so times 4 minus about 15% on a quad MLPPP? |

|
 | Do they use provide a Cisco router? I heard Execulink is using a different technology that works with Bell on the back end and from a switch in Toronto and they only require you to use a specific bonded modem at a good rate? |

Some people have reported decent results with other gear such as Microtek and TPLINK but my experience with both of those was not nearly as reliable as with the above setup. |

Start, TekSavvy, Acanac and a few others offer the MLPPP service. Errm, MLPPP on DSL is indeed bonded DSL. DSL can either be bonded at layer 1 (channel bonding) or layer 2 (MLPPP). -- Developer: Tomato/MLPPP, Linux/MLPPP, etc »fixppp.org |

 | What would a fair cost be for a quad bonded solution? I was quoted $329.95 and over $400 with 400 gb's transfer. |

 | reply to Beenaround start.ca - would not be round robining the DSL connections? So I'm guessing this would be something 4-5 voice lines couldn't be guaranteed on for top notch quality. |

So I'm guessing this would be something 4-5 voice lines couldn't be guaranteed on for top notch quality. Round-robin is different, ie that's "load-sharing" (not quite the same thing as load-balancing, although most 'load balancers' are actually 'load sharers') MLPPP is more like load-balancing but creates a single logical interface.
Ie, load-sharing, you'd have up to 4 channels that can all independently achieve the maximum speed of a single channel. With MLPPP you have a single channel that can reach the maximum (minus some overhead) of the combined (often lowest-common) speed of the 4 channels.
Each has it's pros and cons. |
