1.5 DSL offered 768K UVERSE

I currently have 1.5 DSL DL and I checked ATT.com and UVERSE is available but only was offered 768K, how does that happen? I thought having UVERSE service was supposed to be faster?

My understanding unlike standard DSL, Uverse is much more limited by distance traveled over the copper lines than standard ADSL.
