reply to tschmidt It might be salvageable with a little maintenance. After it thaws out wash the coils thoroughly.
Reduced airflow combined with low ambient temperatures are usual causes of icing. If the humidity control is set too low or is stuck on and it runs continuously, that could be another reason.
