Health insurance calls

Today I've received a dozen phone calls and emails from health insurance providers claiming I sent requests for information to them. They say the requests came from an email address that I don't know anything about. That address isn't even close to my address. I tried sending an email to that address and it comes back as an invalid address.

Anyone know anything about what might be happening?

1. A rogue affiliate of the insurance companies has signed you up to meet a quota or some reward.

2. A bad Aprils fools joke in the form a friend/foe with knowledge of your email address/phone # signing you up for the solicitations.

3. Someone with knowledge of your email address/phone# is simply pissed off at you, signing you up for whatever.

4. Anything is possible -
Posting the full email headers might shed some light.

Guess you missread Snowy... Quote "They say the requests came from an email address that I don't know anything about. That address isn't even close to my address. I tried sending an email to that address and it comes back as an invalid address."

In other words, they blind called him gave him a bogus email and ignored teh DNC list (if he is on it) thus, hang up and go on with your life Toot, my guess is its all bogus and just a sorry excuse to call you up and try to either scam or sell you insurance while ignoring the laws. I'd ask for full name a number to reach them at and then file a DNC complaint.

I oftentimes misread or flat out misunderstand what's before me but I'm fairly certain I called this one correctly.

"Today I've received a dozen phone calls and emails from health insurance providers claiming I sent requests for information to them."

re the reference to "They say the requests came from an email address that I don't know anything about. That address isn't even close to my address."

That's about the OP questioning how or in what manner they "requested" to be contacted, then being told "You emailed us from foo@foo.com"

Doh! Guess I missread the top part, I read it to say he got a call stating they got an email from him requesting etc. etc.
