 | If that's the truth than this company is in worse shape than I ever imagined. I wonder how their service and CS overall will be ranked a few years from now with this continuous reputation to lie and not fix obvious hardware issues.
As I've said before, a bad reputation is very hard to reverse once the damage is done. Alltel is probably shaking their heads at what Windstream is doing to their previous customers and the company name in general. |

Maybe he can explain the latest bogus ETR, its reason for being posted up, and since our equipment has yet to be touched, how the upgrade progress is going around the area that is supposed to give us some relief locally. Thank you... |

 | Thank goodness for that $10 credit!! That makes these dial up speeds well worth it...
The funny thing is even with the $10 credit, my bill is still $47 dollars after all the fees that are conveniently thrown in there. $47 for .20-.30mb/s service with ping times nearly as bad as satellite is absolutely criminal.
Must be nice to charge customers and not supply "promoted" services, yet not get in trouble legally. As your report states, Windstream gets an "F" for their overall grade in every aspect. |

I read on another sub forum the CEO of Rip-off-stream has bragged publicly about selling bandwidth to cell carriers while we are not even considered. That the cell carriers get priority and we get nothing. Do you know anything about that? And how can I get in contact or try to contact the CEO of this shit hole company? I will type up a nice long letter, save it and send it to him several times a day. Might not do any good, but might make me feel a little better.
BTW, what happens when our piddly $10 credit runs out? Full price again for even worse service?
What kind of company are we dealing with? I can say it, but it would not be nice. |

 | I did read about this John. It's getting uglier and uglier. The $10 credit is more of a joke than a comfort when you still pay $47 with it applied for horrendous service. I just want less run-around, more honesty and some actual effort on Windstream's part to make true on their promises for upgrades this year.
Any luck with any new contacts to help us out in our area? I'm working on one presently. And I agree, the first day any new ISP becomes available I"ll jump ship and never look back. |

Re: Windstream DSL Investigation: South Carolina Once again spoke to a local tech when I saw his van. It's funny how aware they are of the problem and even though Windstream knows the DSLAM is over taxed with accounts, they continue to send out flyers and promotions for new service.
Each time they mail these out it's a slap in the face to every customer like myself who struggles with ridiculous latency and horrible download speed every single day. Their greed will hopefully be their demise. Ready for someone to buy them out or for a new player to come into town that actually cares about delivering what they promote. |

| Corporate is the issue. The field techs really want to get the equipment up and running correctly. They don't want to have to hide from customers in public. T1 support is mainly for helping granny get her modem rebooted. T2 support, the ones checking the site, can only do as much as corporate allows. They don't want people calling in everday and complaining when they have their hands tied. Start calling the main office everyday and complaining. File BBB complaints as soon as you get the generic response about the last one you sent in. Hell, go door to door in your area and get signatures from the residents that have Windstream if they would like to support a lawsuit, or whatever, in regards to the service provided. Get the entire community involved and help the ones that don't know if they are getting the speeds they are paying for or not. Once you get even 50 people in the same area calling in to the main office everyday then something will give. I feel for all Windstream customers in that boat. I've been there, and I'm still there. I haven't had issues in awhile now but sadly I'm still with Windstream. Just keep climbing up the ladder everyday and stay on the corporate office's ass! |

 | Well said Bodybagger. Gotta keep up the good fight and stay active since Windstream refuses to support their customers. I'll do all I can with the help of others till we are finally on a stable connection. I need it for work most importantly so I will not give up or slow down in continuing to get our promised upgrades.
I know they are bound by law to upgrade it at some point, not sure if that 's before the end of 2014 or 2015. Due to the funding for rural areas...which they are currently keeping for themselves. Dirty, dirty crooks. Never seen a company that cared so little about their reputation. Google windstream support or DSL and it's a tornado of bad reviews and disappointed customers. |

 | Worse yet the funding seems to disappear. I was told my area had been approved for upgrades and the funding MULTIPLE times and even that the engineers were on track. The week of completion was basically met with confusion and the clear message that those promised upgrades were now only happening around my area and not in it.
Still waiting for updates John and don't even try to understand Windstream iowaboy. Their logic and overall project management will make your head hurt. Very disrespectful company...they just don't care about their customers or reputation at this point. |

| Well at this point I have to say I agree with you. If I ran my business like they do I would be out of business for lack of customers but seeing as they are a communications company and protected by the FCC guess they get to do what ever they want. I know the previous telephone company may have had problems but they at least tried to fix things and usually did. |

 | You brought up a good point. When they were Alltel they were very communicative and tried hard to resolve problems. There wasn't all this secrecy and deception. Windstream does not care about their customers or reputation. I'd love to see anyone argue that. They constantly overload their DSLAM's due to greed yet refuse to upgrade them even with stimulus money in hand. THEY DO NOT CARE. More and more customers are seeing this and ultimately it will be their undoing. |
