I'm a recent transplant from Ottawa to Toronto and have the opportunity to shop around for ISPs. Previously, I was on Teksavvy and still have my Thompson DCM425 modem.
I found the list site »www.canadianisp.ca/, but have no idea where to go from there with regards to service quality. I noticed the activation charge for Teksavvy is among the most expensive as well. Any insight?
That Thompson DCM425 are getting pretty old, most providers offering 25/2 and higher tiers will not activate your service with that modem.
Your only chance would be to activate with someone still offering 18/.512 before they migrate to Aggregate POI on Roger's infrastructure. Afterwards only the 6/.256 will be allowed with the DCM425 or any other DOCSIS 2.0 modem.
Teksavvy would be my preference from personal Knowledge but if i was leaping in and everyone was the same Ciktel has the best prices hands down. and is on aggregated for much of their network. -- Every time Someone leaves Sympatico an Angel gets its wings.
