uncle6 join:2005-04-03 Marriottsville, MD 1 edit | VZ Direct Is the "VZ Direct" forum still a good means for arranging the switch from coax to ethernet from the ONT to the router? The reason I ask is that I posted a request for change on April 1 and haven't heard back.
My understanding is that the VZ Direct forum is probably an informal thing done on a "time available" basis by a few volunteer techs. So I'm completely understanding if that channel is no longer available to me, but if it's not, we should update the FAQ.
Of course it's also possible that I messed up my posting somehow and the right folks haven't seen it.

I decided to give online VZ support chat a try and was able to get the switch-over done painlessly and quickly; didn't even lose the chat session! Kudos to VZ support! I've edited my VZ Direct posting to reflect that in case someone does come back to it later.
Thanks everyone for your help! |

In the past it was more than informal volunteer, although budgets and other considerations may have changed things. There's another unanswered post requesting the ethernet conversion, so maybe it's left for another VZ-direct person who knows how to accomplish it, and he's not online all the time.
Another option is to call tech support. And some folks have met with success through the chat line as well. |

 | Just call in to tech support. Make sure you ask where you are talking to. As long as its not a contractor call center there shouldn't be a problem. |
