Ford redid the spark plugs in 2008. I haven't heard anybody with an '08+ having issues like the 4.6 or 5.4's had.

I'm on that forum and I've never seen that. Interesting facts. I bought my truck in February.

Looks like an incredibly small sampling, which doesn't give much statistical accuracy to it.

My 02 so far, hasn't launched any. But, I've got 92k miles on it. And a spark plug change is coming due. And I dread the spark out of it....

What makes it even worse is most people will report on forums that they have problems but you don't see many showing up to say "Hey, everything is great"

Count me in the group that had it happen twice. Its not really bad to fix tho. I have dealt with maybe ten tritons or so. From my experience i now make sure i park the truck the day before where i want to change the plugs. In other words dont run the truck at all before you change them. The littlest bit of warmth generated from pulling the truck in the garage will be very noticeable when you are removing the plugs.

from what i understand they used a longer 2-piece plug on the newer 5.4's that sometimes snap in half when removing them. i'm guessing from not using anti-seize on the plugs. i think it may be just the 3v heads though.

i wonder if the trick flow 5.4 heads have the plug problem......
