FIOS ONT ground wire replacement

Click for full size
Wire Butechery 101
I have an ONT that is attached to the outside of my home. (similar to this »www.jimgoings.com/uploaded_image···2253.jpg) Is it easy to replace the ground wire? I have a new antenna installed and the moron spliced into my ONT's ground wire with the antenna ground wire. So now I have bare wire (exposed to the elements)
Also the original FIOS ground wire is attached to my electric meter, Should I leave it as is?

Thanks for any advise

As pictured, what you have is the proper installation of a bug nut on a ground wire. In other words, you don't have a problem.

You don't even need the grounding wire (functionally). And, it's common for groundings to be bare. Heck, that's how you can tell they're groundings.

If you think that's bad, you should see the grounding wire they put in when they installed a new breaker box here -- about four feet of entirely bare wire on the outside of the house. Lots more inside, too.

Thanks a lot for the info! I was just concerned that the connection; since it is outside will corrode over time. Is it ok to fashion some cover? OR wrap the entire pictured area in electrical tape?
Kudos to you both! You just saved me a $100 visit from my go to electrician.

That is NOT an acceptable ground. Electricians can pull up the exact code, but ecah ground wire needs to go back to it's own connection on the main ground. Your antenna guy (what type of antenna?) needs to fix it properly.

What he needed to do was splice the green coating and put what is called a clamping ground connector.

This is the antenna »www.amazon.com/Winegard-GS-2200-···01DFVJ6K (The power brick for the amplifier is also plugged into s $4.00 power strip) ... I will be getting a proper outlet installed for it inside my basement and I have one of these on order »www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00006···HPDF958J

If it matters I have 200 Amp service with circut breakers

All that does not matter. That is not grounded properly. They need to come back and fix it.
