| OK... after several phone calls to RCN - If you have an older Motorola (General Instruments) cable box, a software update caused your box to shut off and display an error message '1003 800E'. This is only happening in PA. RCN will be replacing these boxes at no charge (if you call), but to get it running until you do have it replaced, do the following procedure:
unplug box, on the front panel, hold down the power and select buttons, then plug back in... display should blink 88888... when it does, release the power and select buttons. Call RCN and have them re-hit your box... |
