 huds73 join:2013-04-03 Roanoke, VA | [Hardware] Belkin F5D8236-4 V2 blinking router and security LED. I have looked online for every way to reset this router and it will not reset. Ive tried, 7 seconds, 10 seconds, 30 & 60. Power on reset, power off then on reset, power on reset, unplug, replug, stand on my head and face 270 degrees.. (exaggeration) But for some reason the router LED blinks, the security LED comes on then both go off, then repeats..
Does anyone please have any ideas or ran across this before? Ive seen a couple topics related to this particular issue online and one on here but there were no responses.. And ive tried the install CD from belkin with no avail..
Just hope i dont have a 50$ paperweight.
THANKS GUYS! |
 | Re: [Hardware] Belkin F5D8236-4 V2 blinking router and security Try setting a wired PC to a static IP address of 192.168.2.55, or just about any other 2.?? number except 2.1. While you are at it unplug the Ethernet cables other than the one from your PC to the router.
Then open a "command prompt" window on the PC and see if the command;
ping 192.168.2.1 returns a good group of pings.
If the pings are good try to connect to the router with your browser. If successful you should be able to issue the command to reset it to factory defaults in one of your menus and then configure the router to how you want to use it.
The above are the easiest tests/fixes. If none of the above helps then it's possible you might need to reload the firmware in the router which you should find on the Belkin website, along with the instructions on how to accomplish it. The Belkin help desk might need to walk you through this procedure if they still offer that kind of assistance. |
