[TWC] Lack of Responsiveness to Remote Commands

For the last couple of days I noticed that remote commands (i.e., commands using my remote) are either ignored or it takes several seconds, much more than usual, for the command to be obeyed. For example, scrolling through the Program Guide, or attempting to erase a taped program after viewing, may either not be obeyed, or require several clicks and a wait for the command to be obeyed. I replaced the batteries in the remote, but that did not seem to help. Also, last night the DVR, inexplicably, failed to record a program that I had programmed it to record. Any idea what may be going on? I live in So. Manhattan.

Unplug and replug the DVR. This is a common issue that has occurred for years. It seems to be worse in iGuide but exists in Navigator to some degree.

I've been having the same issue.

I'll give the reboot a try and replace the batteries when I get home.

The last time I dealt with laggy remote commands it was because of my new TV. After a little internet search I found the bright display was potentially interfering with the RF of the remote. I relocated the box and problem solved. A friend of mine also had same issue and had to get an rf extender and move that away from the TV. Again problem solved.

Did you get a new TV or have you moved the equipment recently?

we had slow response of our remote. the problem for us was we had the cable box behind the glass door of our entertainment center. when I moved the box to the top of the entertainment center and it was in the open the remote worked fine

I saw this happened a few times with a new Motorola DVR DCX3400 with its 1056B03 RC. Annoying. Why does it happen often and commonly? And no firmware upgrades to fix it? Is it that buggy?
