40$ a year cant really go wrong can use up too 3 devices at the same time also Avoid slow as hell, terrible customer service. I cancelled within a few days and had to open Pay Pal dispute to get my funds back. Don't give this company your money. |

No slower than any other VPN I tried. Tech support assumes that you have a higher level of tech expertise though. |

 | reply to JohnDoh9 I have been using BTGuard Proxy for almost a year now. Works. I've used TorrentPrivacy and BlocklogicVPN before that and they have been less then stellar, to put it mildly.
BTguard works and it is cheap. |

Also works in countries like China to circumvent the Great Firewall. -- Teabaggers: Destroying America is Priority #1 |

 | reply to JohnDoh9 BTGuard. If it's not a "pooled" service then you're deluding yourself that it's private. Many people suggest going to a VPS/VPN that you control but they forget that the routing logs to those VPS/VPNs are stored outside of your control. A pooled service that doesn't log IPs is the only method - the major downside is that if you lose connection to them you're out in the open, even if just for a short period, it's enough to grab a profile and link it to anonymous data.
The reality is that until the Voltage suit is resolved you probably shouldn't worry. It's looking like it's going down in flames which means you'd be throwing money away. |

HideMyAss (HMA) keep logs and as a UK company when given a court order to cough up information, they do so. When trolls get the HMA financial records or access logs showing your ISP address you are no better off than before. Worse. Now you have virtually no plausible deny-ability. |

| reply to funny said by funny:said by morisato:While this may not be the answer your looking for, Don;t do anything with your torrents that would get you sued and Save $40 dollars p:) i will say it , the software and use is not what is illegal its what one does ..... and stay away from public torrents anyhow even if legal. THAT is if you value your privacy. and let me also get this right the one guy goes on about shared ips , then says to use a VPS ( virtual private server) UM NO....virtual anything is shared ON the same box ....you technically want a DPS dedicated private server. dont be fooled , security and privacy are what you want. NOT a lack there of. I never said the software or use of it is Illegal or sueable, i use the software myself often, I however do not use it for things which are illegal and Would cause me to get sued, If the Op had said i want to Ensure my privacy whilst i use torrents That question is much more different than I am worried about Being sued for torrent usage- This implys that he wants to do something he should be sued for and wants to cover tracks, Hence why i answered the way i did. -- Every time Someone leaves Sympatico an Angel gets its wings.

While HMA will comply with the laws of the host country of the server, the customer has the choice of country/server to use and can select a server outside of the US or UK to afford greater privacy. -- Teabaggers: Destroying America is Priority #1 |
