Latest Optimum Set Top Boxes

I have had the same 2 set boxes for what seems like eternity, a Scientific Atlanta 4200 and a 4250, both of which I believe are the non-HD versions, since they are both hooked up to analog TV's. Are these "current" in the Optimum offering of hardware?

There have been no new SD box models provided to CV customers.

To follow this up, I have a samsung box hooked up to an old Sony Triniton TV.

I have the samsung output set to 4:3.

So what it does is, when you tune to say CBS channel 2, you are getting the HD feed from channel 2, and the cable box crops off the sides of the picture to display a full screen 4:3 non stretched image.

Also using a Samsung box. I've got it hooked up to a crappy old SD TV... via S-Video out of all connectors. I'm running 4:3 and 480p.

I don't have any issues with the box. It works better then the SA boxes and looks a lot nicer too.

Yeah I'm using a Samsung box as my HD non dvr. I got it randomly when swapping out an HD dvr for a non dvr. I liked it because at the time only the Samsung boxes had the new guide and revamped UI. But the tv I'm using it on has a Bose CineMate GS II sound system and I'm forced to use STB volume control...which is TERRIBLE on Samsung boxes...the sound range isn't wide enough. So I had to request my dvr back because the SA box has an excellent volume range. And now they all have the improved guide.
