This is what I thought too, but I've seen multiple places that it still won't support AWS HSPA+, but then what is the update doing? People are claiming it enables Band IV LTE, which is BS, as that was enabled on day 1 for AT&T and Canadian carriers.

No, it's not going to enable the use of AWS bands for HSPA+. This is not a "firmware update" as many places are incorrectly reporting.

This is simply an official carrier profile (IPCC) for T-Mobile US. It will configure T-Mobile's APN, MMS, VVM, etc. settings.

Yeah, I found out on MR that all it's doing is carrier settings, MMS, VVM, etc. People keep mentioning LTE, because apparently T-Mobile didn't have carrier settings to make LTE work with T-Mobile before, even though the unlocked phones previously supported Band IV LTE on AT&T and Canadian carriers.
