[Embarq] Finally Another Choice

Finally I have another choice. I'd actually been fairly happy with CenturyLink but I always was disappointed with my terrible upload speeds and the fact that I can't get anything past 6 Mbps. My area has been wired for Fiber now and I have a triple play package (TV,internet, home phone) with SCTC. They offer speeds up to 10 Mbps download and 2 Mbps upload. I'm on the 5 Mbps package with 1 Mbps upload and honestly it's faster than my 6 Mbps with CenturyLink and the upload is definately better.

I'm getting 6-6.5 Mbps on this new service faster than what they state I will get and my upload is actually a bit above 1 Mbps as well. So far I'm very happy with this new internet and of course happy that I'm getting better speed than what I was told. It's nice to have a choice, while CenturyLink was ok they really haven't upgraded their lines or speeds around here in many years so they are falling behind others. Even this local service I have now beats CenturyLink.

Is this true FTTP (ONT at demarc), or VDSL over FTTN?

Just curious; choice is good.

It's fiber to the premise. Here is a document explaining the expansion where I live.
