[Southeast] Massive packet lost on Verizon network
The host google-gw.customer.alter.net (alter.net is part of Verizon network) is experiencing horrific packet loss, sometime upwards of 50%. As this is between a lot of users and YouTube, and unable to handle the traffic going through it, it impacts video playback causing video to not buffer and halt after about 40 seconds. The problem has been persistent for a number of days. Is Verizon aware of the problem, and more importantly, able to route around it?

Its not VZ's network the packetloss is happening on the transition from VZ's network to Google. Google is VZ's customer (not the other way around).
If google runs their lines at capacity and refuses to upgrade/pay more in order to get more capacity what do you expect VZ to do about it? Its not VZ's problem. I don't know how many times this has to be stated.
Go bitch at google. -- 300/150 mbit Bonded Verizon FiOS connection FTW!
reply to wlsonverizon A lot of people have been going crazy over this issue and the tough thing is Verizon has been the outlet of rage cause they have customer support, while google on the other hand I've heard has nothing to complain too. I'm pretty sure if someone can get in contact with someone their inbox would be flooded and phones off the hook cause of all the people that can't watch anything.
