Nor am I interested in pfsense or FreeBSD or similar running on general purpose hardware (especially on something like an old Pentium 4 space heater).
Actually, I'm probably just going to downgrade my Comcast service. I don't honestly have much justification for paying for 50 Mbps.
Did you look here - many cheap hardware routers with firewalls can handle your throughput
