Yes, this is one of the three most respected test sites. The other two are Virus Bulletin (the original, first respected tester organization) and AV-Comparatives.
I think folks should use all three when making decisions about worthy AV products.
AV-Comparatives did not test Symantec last year and will not be testing them this year either. Symantec, last year, demanded to NOT take part in the ONE MOST IMPORTANT TEST OF ALL...a BASIC test...File Detection. AV-Comparatives told Symantec that they could not pick and choose which BASIC tests they wanted to participate in. If they wanted to be tested then they had to, like ALL vendors tested, agree to be tested on all basic tests.

forum.av-comparatives.org/index.···bd994881AV-Comparatives has their latest
IT Security Survey out. I participate in the survey each year. This year's results are particularly interesting I think. You can see what the survey participants think in regards to worthy AV test organizations, which magazines-reviewers are reliable and trustworthy, what is thought of vendor sponsored tests, etc.
I hope the vendors pay attention to the survey as it clearly shows that IT-Professionals, expert users, etc. value most of all file detection rate which is a test (the original, basic test) that is NOT dependent on the cloud and secondly good malware removal, with heuristic detection (OFFLINE) in third place. Knowledgeable users do NOT want cloud based protection except as a minor COMPLEMENT to detection based on signatures and heuristics. This poses an interesting conundrum for the vendors.

www.av-comparatives.org/resources/surveysThis year AV-Comparatives has decided to not limit the participants to 20 vendors but has added two more places which many will be happy to see occupied by
Emisisoft and
Kingsoft as requested by users last year.
