And my employment contract required 100% up time while working. So I under stand your pains.
I had a Rogers cable connection, and lost my employment due to [this] Rogers Cable constantly going down.. lol.... LOL indeed !
So they expected you to spend YOUR money to supplement their own flakey connection to you, one to which you already susbscribed and paid.
Hmmmm.... Chutzpah ? |

Plus he saves on costs like transportation and packing meals to take to work. |

Your cell phone carrier doesn't offer 100% uptime. Rip them a new one if it goes down! |

 | reply to TSI Marc said by TSI Marc:Gang, thanks for all the advice. I think this is all a case of a poorly written notice.
Yep.
And this will be one area where you and I will digress..... the first notice was SO poorly written that the vast majority of the customers you have (you know, the types that signed up cuz of your TV & bus ads) will think that you/they WILL be totally down for 4 consecutive nights.
Since those customers are also paying you good money, don't you think you owe them a properly worded maintenance notice?
Just sayin. |

| I believe the Maintence window occurs in the Middle of the night thus affecting the least amount of customers, I highly doubt it will interfere with someones finals as those happen in daylight not in the middle of the night P:) and for oncall workers- I guess you get to spend a few nights at the office instead of at home! if u lack a backup and refuse to risk it! Are we so addicted to the internet that we need more than 2 days to re-arrange our days around a potential internet outage? If it was a single outage, for an hour or two? Sure. 4 days in a row of outages, for 5 hours at a time ... with 2 days notice: NO! -- The more I C, the less I see. |

They are periods during which an outage is more likely than usual...but most people won't experience more than a few minutes at the most. |
