[Internet] PC TV tuner- Brevard county

I'm fed up with BH dvr service and was looking to install a TV tuner in my desktop and use Windows Media Center as a PVR. Not being that savy in terms of what I might need or if this is possible for cable TV or not, just looking for some input on what I need to do. I'm def a noob when it comes to this!!!

I have seen somewhere that you can get a cable card from BH, but damn, I don't want to spend MORE money just cause they can't figure out how to record more than 2 shows at once. Also, without a cablecard, can I get all of the channels through the tuner that I get on the box? Couldn't I just use the out from the box to the input of the card?

I am just looking to use this in conjunction with my dvr now so I can stop worrying about getting the conflict message on recordings.

Seriously thinking about looking into that competitor that says 4 shows at once!!!!

Any help and input is appreciated!!!!

This is is the HD Cable card Tuner card that connects to your home network it records 3 three HD streams at once. »www.amazon.com/SiliconDust-HDHom···un+prime

Then you need a cable card from BHN $2.99 a month and a SDV tuner is included Free of charge last time I checked.

One of the cool features of the SiliconDust HDHomeRun Prime now has a Firmware update that activates a DNLA Server in the tuner so you can stream live TV on your home network to iPads PS3 Xbox 360 smartphone's tables etc.

There's also a 4 Stream Cable card tuners from Ceton Crop.

Using media center and going that route is really nice but if your not that technical I would highly advise against it. While it doesnt sound difficult and CAN be easy, if there are any hick ups you will be stuck

Wow, wasn't expecting that much in price. Was just thinking to get a $50 tuner card to slap in my machine and off I go. Not going to give big business BHN more money just record a couple more shows. I will just deal with my crappy DVR setup as it is for now.

You know the only thing BHN gets money from on that set up is the 3 bucks a month for the cable card..

There is no such thing....first of all if you are not technically inclined and patient not to mention tolerant of occasional technical issues AND have a fat wallet you do not want to do this.
