I find it just cheaper to pay for cable. I pay $30/month extra for the movie channels. I watch 11 (soon to be 12) original dramatic series on those channels, plus Inside The NFL, Jim Rome and Real Sports. The average premium cable series is 10 episodes per season. To buy full seasons of Boardwalk Empire, Game of Thrones, True Blood, Banshee, Hunted, Strike Back, Homeland, Californication, Shameless, House of Lies, Magic City and the upcoming Ray Donovan, thats $360/yr at $3/episode. Amazingly enough I also pay $360 additional dollars a year for the movie channels. But for that same $360 I get a ton of movies, concert specials, comedy specials, live boxing and other content in addition to those 12 shows I mentioned above.
Aside from the NFL and NHL on NBC, NFL on CBS and NFL, MLB, NASCAR, UFC and NCAA Football on Fox, I fail to see what makes OTA content appealing on days of the week other than Saturday or Sunday.
