MSaukMSaukPremium join:2002-01-17 Sandy, UT | [Speed] Getting 33/10, should I have 50/10? So lately I have noticed on my speed tests that my upload is always in the 10 meg speed. But my downloads are not going over 33 or so.
I thought the blast was 30/5 and next up was 50/10 (in Utah).
Guess my question is why is my upload so high right now? Any clues would be great -- 801 Images |

Guess my question is why is my upload so high right now? Any clues would be great Yeah. You got the upgrade and should be getting 50/10.
The first thing to check, do you have a Docsis 3, modem? If you still have a Docsis 2 modem, you need to get it swapped to get anything over 25. Second thing to check, do you have a Wireless G router? Routers like the WRT54G series from Linksys are only good for 30-35 down.
I'm in that boat right now and only get about 33/10 as well. I'll be ordering a new router to get my full 50/10 in a few days.
Hope this helps you. |

 | reply to MSauk What modem do you have?
What router do you have?
Post your signals. |

 | reply to MSauk I'm getting 36/6 - DOCSIS 3.0 6120SB modem, Asus router with open source firmware and fully capable of getting way higher than what I'm testing. Now based on the replys thus far to this thread then I too should be getting 50/10 but I'm not - so either I need to call comcast and complain or something else isn't right but I have all the equipment in place to obtain 50/10 easy. |

I have a rented modem from Comcast. It is their modem they use for voice and internet.
I have my own Docsis 3 moden, Surfboard 6120 I believe.
I have the router to be fine. Before I got triple play a few months back I was able to achieve speeds just fine when I had the 50/10 speed before.
Wonder if the config file is wrong, that happened before with me when I first got the service installed at my place. -- 801 Images |

Post your signals. I will have to post signals at some point tomorrow, but I have had the 50/10 service before I went to triple play. Only thing that is different is the modem that I had to rent in order to have internet and voice.

MSaukMSaukPremium join:2002-01-17 Sandy, UT | reply to MSauk Well it was the modem they had rented to me. It was a doscis 2.0 modem used for internet and voice. So I have put my old one back on and what do you know, blazing 50/10 speed! Love it. And it was for "free". -- 801 Images |

Have you powercycled the modem to help pull the new config ? |
