1 edit | You can use your own modem(6Mbps is ADSL), but no support by Telus shall be given to it for any problems.
You will probably get an Actiontec gateway, so just use it initially and then stuff it into the closet and use your own. If you have a problem on your DSL line, plug it in for tech support.
The Tech may come to install a POTS splitter. It is a filter at the grey DEMARC on the side of the house, so you don't need filters on all your phone outlets. Or he might not and then you will use filters on each phone outlet for the phones only.
The tech may only go to the Dslam to connect you up if needed. edit: If you have not already gotten the gateway(modem/router) by mail, the tech may bring it for you.
A ADSL setting for your modem is VCI.33 |

 | reply to gamblerr If you wanted to use your own router with a Telus modem you could always ask the tech if he has a Speedtouch modem with him. |

 | They are pretty easy to find as well. I've got one gathering dust. |
