The bad math contest

As someone who works for one of the Final Four, I have to say that I really can't take Consumerist and especially the WCIA seriously. Not that some aren't deserving, but most of the vote is based on misdirected anger and general lack of contact with reality.

But the whole "second worst company" nonsense just pisses me off. I've even shown them where the math fails, but they simply aren't concerned with being right, and that's a deal breaker for me.

Plus, they stopped having comments. What respectable blog doesn't have comments? One that doesn't want anyone calling them on their bullshit, that's what. Plonk.

You hit the nail on the head. I would concede that some of the vote is based on misdirected anger and general lack of contact with reality. The squeaky wheel paradigm applies here.
The second point about no commenting, that is weak on their side. If you are going to have an annual (?) vote, shouldn't it be open to comments also?
