 | Any way to make a web server with distributel. I don't know but i'm not talking about the server on distributel site. I meant a server, directly using the distributel ip. Any ways to do it? I tried using my public ip and it didnt seem to work. And searching on google, didnt find any answers. Plus, port fowarding didnt change anything. |

| Generally speaking, running a server of any type is usually a violation of the TOS/AUP from the ISP. »www.distributel.ca/en/policy.aspx
Also, a large number of ISP's block some incoming ports as a general rule, SMTP, HTTP, etc. There may be some ways around these blocks, but if you have to ask here, you likely shouldn't do it. |

| As said above... And given the upload speeds out there, hosting a web site off your home connection pretty much guarantees a slow web site. Considering there are some pretty decent and cheap web hosting companies all over the place, I wonder why one would want to do this in the first place(?) -- Start Communications Forum |
