| [Google Voice] GV + Obi Occasionally Displaying CNAM I've noticed that infrequently some of my incoming calls to my Google Voice number connected via my Obi100 displays (correct) CNAM data. The originating callers I've noticed this with are using carriers as diverse as Sprint Wireless, Verizon Wireless and Verizon (NY) landlines.
What can account for this considering that GV does not provide CNAM? |

 | I have never seen this..... are you sure the CNAM data are not stored in your analog phone connected to the phone port? Are you using Simon Telephonics or Callcentric free incoming DID set up by any chance?
For the Sprint Wireless calls, I wonder if these callers have the GV-Sprint integration? |
|
 | No CC or any other providers in the mix. Sprint callers (who are displaying CNAM) are not using GV integration. And the analog phone's directory is empty. |

mdseuss join:2012-05-27 Worcester, MA | No CNAM joy in any of my tests calling into GV numbers hosted on Chrome/GoogleChat, Obi100/Obi202, YATE with any of those originating numbers.
If it really is coming from GV's call delivery to you, maybe it is related to the termination number service provider in some way.
I would gladly pay Google for CNAM dips on calls |

 | reply to josephf If you have an unwanted/expired magicJack sitting around, national LIDB database CNAM dips and real E911 are both optionally available with the $12.95 GVJackApp for Google Voice. When the name is in your Gmail / Google Voice contacts list it is automatically displayed in any case.
CNAM and E911 services are also both optionally available with the $25 GVMate Phone Adapter and $20 GVMate Phone for Google Voice. |

 | reply to josephf Okay, disregard this thread please. I've determined the phone equipment saved a handful of names in its internal Caller ID from when the phone was previously used on a POTS line.
Thanks everyone. |
