Re: [HD] Missing HD channels

Franchise agreements also play in to it, as well as costs to distribute.

They aren't really missing if you never had them. Misleading thread title.

I don't buy that second part of your message. In some areas of South Florida some users could have tons of HD channels (I did back when HD was new) and you could go across the street and get next to nothing, however the prices were the same. So I don't see that as an excuse because it kills your brand name, as we all know from Comcast currently being the the top four worst companies in America. I know you never had them but your neighbors do and that can anger people, especially if the prices are exactly the same.

I am not sure which part you are referencing, as you talk about cost and channels missing.

Missing = You had them at one time, and now they are gone and you didn't do anything.

Costs to distribute= plant upgrades, Head end changes, etc. (Nothing to do with your bill). You could be across the street from each other, but one system has new equipment and the other is a legacy from another provider that will cost millions to upgrade to have the same capacity as the new system. That stuff takes time.

For the monthly costs being the same, yeah that happens. But you are paying the fee based on the services you receive and knew were available at that time. If you aren't happy? Change to a different provider (like dish), use streaming video, or put up an antenna. There is always an option. Voice your feelings with your wallet. Nothing else matters.
