[Signals] With upgrades came frequency changes...

This is an update to this thread where I was seeing 591 MHz being dropped/filtered: »[Signals] Is this noise, channel drop or something else....

The tech just left after pulling two filters from my line at the hub pedestal. (the green box outside the house).

Thought I would pass along a tidbit of info at least for San Jose. He said that when Comcast upgraded everybody they had to switch a lot of frequencies around which in turn caused issues like mine. After he removed the filters the line stats are like this now:

Startup Procedure
Procedure Status Comment
Acquire Downstream Channel 603000000 Hz Locked
Connectivity State OK Operational
Boot State OK Operational
Configuration File OK
Security Enabled BPI+

Upstream Bonded Channels

1 Locked ATDMA 5 5120 Ksym/sec 30600000 Hz 37.8 dBmV
2 Locked TDMA and ATDMA 4 2560 Ksym/sec 25300000 Hz 37.5 dBmV
3 Locked ATDMA 6 5120 Ksym/sec 37000000 Hz 38.5 dBmV
4 Not Locked Unknown 0 0 Ksym/sec 0 Hz 0.0 dBmV

and speeds are now:

So if you have been upgraded I would check your signals even if you are not experiencing issues.

According to the tech they are very busy pulling filters and checking lines due to the speed upgrades at least in San Jose.

edit: fix filter location to "pedestal"

pedestal (ped) = green box outside your house
hub= not really used in HFC terminology, but could be used in place of and a OTN site (mini headend)

are you guys all digital yet? once we went digital, traps were pulled anytime we saw one...no need, as its just another point of failure.

Thanks for the clarification. Yes he took out filters at the pedestal.

Don't know if we are all digital yet as I don't have TV through Comcast, just voice and data.

But there were other filters on the other lines at the pedestal if that is any indication.
