Re: Motorola releases info on dcx3200rf and more info ondcx3600m Comcast has been far more interested in getting boxes made to their specifications (i.e. RNG or X1 RDK platform), so they've been using Pace as a go-to vendor more and more.
There's a Pace RNG200N on their website, that I haven't seen Comcast use yet, but I assume they will soon.
Given the name DCX3200RF, I can only assume it's just a tweaked version of the DCX3200 Phase 3 (which Comcast hasn't adopted AFIAK) with an RF out for legacy TVs. I notice the manual has a picture of a newer chassis than the previous DCX3200's and it has Xfinity branding on it. So this would almost certainly be a new RNG150N class device from Moto.
The DCX3600 appears to have 8-tuners and does transcoding to smartphones/tablets. It is far more advanced than any other Motorola box. It looks like it would be used for the X1 platform, if Comcast adopts it. There's no evidence of Comcast branding anywhere that I can find in the 3600 literature. |
 | Motorola released the dcx3600m specs sheet and the quick start guide. also motorola has posted the install guide and the userguide for the dcx3200RF which i have not heard any info on it. as listed on the website bellow the dcx3200m p2 and the dcx3400 are both at its end of life support with motorola. so would comcast be replacing the dcx3200m p2/DCX3400 with another cable box of equivelence. will they be opening up the dcx3501m/RNG200N to more people who dont have total home dvr. So will comcast be one of the cable providers to have eather the dcx3200RF or dcx3600m or both?
to get both of the documents go to: »www.motorola.com/Video-Solutions···n-Center and then click on browse now and then click yes. then search for dcx3600m and it should come up also search for dcx3200rf and also search for elo |
