1 edit

what's the sim say I should be doing with my currently equipped gear?

BTW I think Saturday I'm going to farm timeless coins and maybe get my trinket.
Also I'll check what all I've sent to my priest as I found out those 496's can be made into 535's I think with the right item, I hope I sent a chest token.

The sim chart posted earlier was for ilevel 522 and showed you should be able to maintain 158. Although with some mechanics on boss fights DPS numbers go down, I would still say you should be able to maintain 120. You do peak at 120 from time to time but normally you maintain high 90s to low 110s.

Odd, I've seen 200's peak and holding 130k

then again that sim that was posted was likely 522 bis, not the exact gear I actually have.

I have seen you maintain 130 in LFR and other things. But most boss fights it ends being lower. Maintaining doesnt just mean holding that number during the first phase.

Yes you may not have the exact gear of 522 that the sim has but you have a higher item level. Therefore you should be easily maintain higher number than the chart.

You say push you and give you a goal, while all along we have been saying, you can do better for your ilevel.

Sometimes being the highest gear can cause you so slip in your performance. I will be the first to admit to that.

Hay I don't have the highest gear, you do.
then again your a tank so not comparable.

I do sometimes miss procs (on lei shen the downtime for transition is where it really drops) and I don't know my dps seemed lower on him the whole time I'm wondering if theres some mech in play there. (normally I can hit 200+ during hero but I wasn't seeing it on him.)

You are also at the mercy of the other lower DPS. Lfr is horrible now that everyone can queue for TOT.
I know I am no where near 160k DPS, of course I am not at 522 either.

Does anyone know if the Earth has entered into some kind of time warp where the last few hours have actually taken much longer than they should have? Time is going way too slow. I need to hop on the NASA site or something. Something is definitely up.

I've experienced that phenomenon before. I swear... one time in Mrs. Guzman's 8th grade spanish class I swear I saw the clock hand move backwards a few times.

Yep, this confirms it! I'm switching back to Marksman!! Glad to see it start to come back up. I've been nothing but an avid MM player since release, and only just went BM cause it was SO superior at the time.

Time to go back to my most beloved spec and start enjoying myself again rather than having WAY too many buttons to remember to hit (stupid pet abilities...grumbles).

Still region locked....where the hell is the technology to defeat this monster?

Thanks for posting that, I had been meaning to look up a chart like that. The last time I saw one was back in 5.0. Fury's a little higher than I was anticipating, and TG and SMF are close enough to where I don't have to worry about needing to switch. Much closer than at the end of Cata, whew that was a big spread.

I think me and feral would some day like to do a achev run, PUGs seem to always fail at kneel to the flame. (oh well no rush maybe someday get 6 non-pugs (IE friends and friends of friends that can be trusted to not mess up) and roll through reg to get brushfire and kneel (I don't plan to do this any time soon though.)

I did that about a year and a half ago, and a few times since then. Let me know if you need someone to fill in for it.

The theme for this week is: Morale

Gearwise, we are ready to start plugging away at SoO Normal. About half of the raid group simply lacks confidence. The biggest thing we lacked on our Immer attempts was a strat that worked for our makeup/strengths. We also need to finally pay attention to some of our bad habits. Bad habits that don't really matter when you are progressing through a raid that you already outgear thanks to world bosses, upgraded LFR gear and Valor gear.

This week, burn a coin on a Celestial, then run LFR (don't burn coins). Cap your valor to replace any item that is below i522, and then upgrade your i522+ gear. Friday night, we will have a confidence run of ToT to shore up our lower geared dps. I got my horridon trinket this weekend and I can't tell how excited I am about that!!! (of course this means I will probably get a trinket drop in my first LFR, lol...)
Saturday night, I plan on running Flex with everyone I can gather up. Plan on burning coins for this and really plowing through parts 1 and 2.

We'll go back to flexing Friday and Normal Saturday the following weekend. Don't despair, and don't let a few dozen wipes get you down. Remember, we already have the gear we need to progress through SoO... we just need to learn how to use it better individually and as a raid group. For this, I highly recommend doing the Proving grounds (I have yet to try it myself). Based on most of the comments here on DSLR, beating silver makes you good... beating gold makes you above-average. Let's shoot for being above average. I know we are just a casual guild ... but I've seen above-average performance from each of you. I believe in you guys, even if you are currently drowning in self-doubt.

Here's to an awesome week! Happy hunting, PnE.

Arrg looks like I'll be sending all 6 sticks to Kingston for the RMA

I can't seem to find my old 6gb (3x 2gb) set that I used when I first built the computer, so I'll have to buy some ddr3 mem to get by while I wait on the rma

Guess I'll look for that 6gb one more time (otherwise I'll be running with only one stick of ram while I wait.)

Hit me up friday!

Sounds good, brother.

So... turns out I'm not quite the awesome healer I thought I was. My first attempt at Proving Grounds Gold... I failed at 5/10. I was /oom and was relying on CDs to try to get through... lots of dmg going out. I'll give it another shot when I have time to work on it. I will say that I'm a big fan of what they've done in there. Solid training is available in there, and it will be awesome for trying out new talents or specs. Really awesome for testing how patches changes will affect your performance. Until then... I'm but a humble Silver healer (Holy Spec). I should try Disc also.

I am not sure if how good it will test patch changes. I am having issues with my abilities that proc on crit because of the ilevel reduction lowers my crit from 63% to 32%. Some other things to keep in mind are the legendarys dont work out in there either. I am thinking about using a 496 head token and placing a regular meta gem in. Then reforging for more mitigation rather than the RPS build. Wishing I held onto a few mitigation trinkets know.

Not sure if this is just a tank thing or other classes will have to take into account similar adjustments.

It is great though for tweaking your play style for more fluidity and awareness and really roll through your abilities rather than just muscle through.

excellent points. It wouldn't work as a direct comparison between raid performance and proving ground performance, but if you compare how you did in the proving grounds before a patch to how you are doing now in the same gear, you'd have a much better indicator of how it affects playstyle than just wailing on a target dummy. As a healer, this is finally something that can serve as a real testing metric, which is why I'm so excited. I hate the stat squish, though... it was painful.

I one shot gold as a shaman healer but I started with a 505 ilevel built Spirit>Mastery. After the reduction I'd have still had plenty of mastery so I was doing more healing the lower health the group got, and they got low a couple of times (Healing Tide Totem/Ascendance healed to full without too much issue).

Mana was an issue, but it was also an issue in silver so I knew to use CD's early to get more use from them. I had the shado-pan mana restoring trinket and the Mana Tide Totem. Used the Shadopan one when I was at 200k mana, then Mana Tide once when it dipped to 200k again. After that I just used them when they were off CD. It got very tight around waves 8-10 but the waves do give you a break on the odd occasion and I got lucky.

I guess it also helps to interrupt the AOE attack if you can. I did wherever I could, but I know not all healers can so I don't know exactly what difference it made.

AskMrRobot does have a optimize for Challenge mode option. I am gonna check it out some time and see what it says.

I think the biggest issue for some healer/tank raiders is going to be that they setup their toon not only for their play style but to balance with the other healer/tank as too fill any gaps in the raid group.

Thats not the same as Proving Grounds, so unless they scale identically it might not be any use.
