MegaPath & Zyxel P 600 modem that refuses to bridge.

Been on 8x8 for a year and can't deal with the poor voice and dropped calls via CenturyLink's ActionTec Q1000 which will not play well with our Polycom 550's. So, we made a change to VOIP and INTERNET hosting with MegaPath on the condition that they NOT use a combo modem. All our problems were to vanish. The installer got one phone running but took him 3 hours. He told me the Zyxel P 600 modem was not a combo modem. He left and we have not been able to get anyone at MegaPath to help provision the phones after a week. It's a law firm. We need the phones! Decided to go back to 8x8. Had to reset the Clearwater 4550 modem back to factory settings (password protected and Megapath would not assist or provide it) We finally discovered that the Zyxel P 600 modem is in fact a combo modem. So we bought a Netgear ADSL2+ DM111PSP modem. After 12 hours of screwing around with Netgear, 8x8 and Megapath support, .... yes.... the Netgear is also a combo modem.
I asked Megapath if they could tell me what make and model modem I could buy, but they didn't know.
Any suggestions? Comcast? Is there such a thing as ADSL2+ that is NOT a combo modem? Why can't these modems be truly bridged?
Thank you.

Re: MegaPath & Zyxel P 600 modem that refuses to bridge.

You'd probably be better off just cutting your losses and switching over to a comcast business line. You should be able to get double the speeds for about 100$/mo, plus the comcast modems should play alot nicer with your polycoms than the zyxel. Then again have you considered any physical line issues with the dsl? Poor line quality will also give you the dropped calls / bad sound quality you're experiencing. Megapath should be able to run tests on your line while youre on the phone with them, dont know if theyve done that or not yet but it might be worth looking into.
