Rogers - multiple modems

I currently have rogers and distributel modems on my cable line.
I've had rogers since the 90's so I'm grandfathered into a 10/1 plan but rates keep on going up to the point its not worth keeping rogers anymore.
I want to switch from rogers to another provider, would the new provider (via rogers) still be able to provision a new modem with the distributel modem online?
When I got distributel(3web), it was not a concern that I had more then one modem connected, but I've heard rogers might not support this practice anymore. If I went with say Teksavvy would anyone be the wiser if I canceled rogers and added Teksavvy?
