HBO does not own most of the content they show.
They mostly show movies they license and have 1 or 2 shows they develop.
Make that nine currently under development and/or airing with a huge backlog from previous years and 18 planned. That doesn't include eight other shows currently airing/under development that are considered sports/talk/documentary. And none of that takes into account their original movies.
Seriously, get your facts straight before you try to "disprove" something.
Netflix shows movies and shows they license and currently has two shows they own. One show "house of cards" they got by outbidding HBO.
Make that three: House of Cards, Arrested Development (new seasons), and Hemlock Grove.
In any case, my primary points stands: HBO charges more because they feel that the content they offer (much of it original programming particularly compared to Neflix) is worth it.
