Not unreasonable

HBO I think is $18 a month with some providers. They raised their rates again this year to all providers.

But with Google Fiber looks like everything is automatically in HD if possible. I wonder if they have On Demand or throw in HBOGo / MaxGo ?

Google Fiber TV looks pretty nice. Plenty of demo and review videos on Youtube about it, just search.

Re: Not unreasonable

Isnt it crazy that neflix is doing what HBO has done for only $8 a month and over the internet?

Apples and oranges. Netflix doesn't rely solely on original content. Netflix doesn't own the vast majority of content they stream. HBO's argument is that their content is more valuable (e.g. popular) than the content you can get on Netflix. And if the pirating statistics are to be believed, HBO is right.

Re: Not unreasonable

Huh?
HBO does not own most of the content they show.
They mostly show movies they license and have 1 or 2 shows they develop.

Netflix shows movies and shows they license and currently has two shows they own.
One show "house of cards" they got by outbidding HBO.

Make that nine currently under development and/or airing with a huge backlog from previous years and 18 planned. That doesn't include eight other shows currently airing/under development that are considered sports/talk/documentary. And none of that takes into account their original movies.

Seriously, get your facts straight before you try to "disprove" something.

Make that three: House of Cards, Arrested Development (new seasons), and Hemlock Grove.

In any case, my primary points stands: HBO charges more because they feel that the content they offer (much of it original programming particularly compared to Neflix) is worth it.
