How to get CenturyLink to provision more than 896k upload..

I have a friend who is wanting to sign up with CenturyLink two blocks away from me, and they're on a VDSL2 node (according to the tech i spoke with), and when ordering residential service they are only given an option of up to 20/896k, but if they do a business account they're eligible for 40/20.

Is there anyway to get CL to provision a 5Mbps upload? They had one with Qwest back in 2010 before going to Cox.

Yes, you can get different upload speeds. I suggest calling and talking to a representative (if you haven't already). The web site seems to be slow and annoying to navigate.

Well i called on her behalf today, and was able to get them to order 40/5 for $44.99/mo for a year.. Let's see if that's what it actually syncs when it's installed next week.

I might call and see if i can swap to that since i'm paying $34.99 for 20/5 right now
