[Internet] FTTH Installation Question

Hey Guys

I'm moving into a new home next and it looks like there isn't a punchdown box -- Bell is coming in next week to do an install for FTTH, all the RJ45 outlets throughout the house go to the furnace room.

Does anyone know if Bell would install a punchdown box ?

I doubt it, not really something you would expect of the tech.

I think he means a Ethernet Patch Panel. No bell wil not install that for you.

You have to buy it yourself and punch down each of your ethernet connections to it.

Bell will only install your modem and activate your service. They're not paid to do any extra work

The tech will put up data jacks for the ones you will use or if you want your modem on the main floor the tech will install a data jack or crimp the cat5e in the basement to run from the ONT and install a data jack at the modem location.

We do not carry ethernet patch panels. If the sub wants the modem in the basement ill generally install a data jack in the top floor and or main floor for the customer to hook up there own cpe to connect to the modem.
