Re: [X1] Xfinity X1 now available to New Customers

I just found out that the X1 will be available in my area (Northern VA) next week. Does anyone know if Comcast is still limiting this to triple play customers only, or can I call in as a double play and get one?

You aren't the only one curious; while I'm a triple-play customer, I'm in Prince George's County, MD (same region as yourself - Beltway Region). We have one Pace HD box (RNG110) and two different Moto boxes (DCT-2224 and DCT-711) - our known non-X1 compatible gear are two DTAs (both SD) and my Tivo Premiere. The CID on TV feature does work on all the TVs (even my Tivo-driven 40" LED), so that means the feature does NOT require even an STB connected.

the moto boxes won't get the x1 software as they can't handle it. You would have to swap them out.
