POE Filter for Shared ONT
Apparently, Verizon has shared ONTs in my apartment building.
In that case, it is advisable to have the tech install a POE filter before my splitter since I intend to use MoCA bridging?
Your install tech should know what's required for your apartment building. If you're on friendly terms with a neighbor who already has it, find out if they have a filter installed. If that's the case, then you can complete the discussion on installation day.
Lol. My installer was here for 6 hours first trying to getting the Internet working, which he did. Then, trying to get cable cards paired/activated. The secret sauce in activation was allowing the TiVos to go through their cable channel download before testing the cable cards.
Internet is provided over RJ-11 to a vdsl box. I'm making that available through MoCA/Coax (which worked at 50Mbps).
Turns out, the POE filter is ideal in that, if placed before the splitter, it improves the performance of the MoCA network.
