repairing USB 598 antenna jack?

Hello all,

A family member accidentally broke the antenna jack on my 598. I have still been getting decent signal but haven't been topping out on my 3G speed since it happened.

I have a spare 598USB that I bought (Didn't have a clean ESN) and I was wondering if it would be possible to swap out the broken jack by parting out my other modem? Wouldn't mind a little project to work on.

Figured I'd ask here first before buying a new 598.

Heres a photo of the broken jack's condition and the new one just for reference.

Thanks for your help fellas!

It'd be a very delicate soldering job

Agreed was thinking that myself. Was thinking about switching the internals from the broken jack modem into the other one but guessing that will require careful soldering too.

Probably just going to buy a new one.
