Re: [CA] Upgrades SoCal?

Ok just got a confirmationf from a Cox Rep on their facebook. San Diego area "will" be getting a speed increase, they just haven't released the date yet.

"Cox Communications - Hi Jim, The speed increases are being rolled out for each market separately but most are planned though the coming months, San Diego date has not been released yet but you will see the speed increases shown in the new section of the bill before it happens. -Ed "

"My main point is "Will" San Diego area get the speed increase (whether sooner or later) ?"

"Cox Communications -Yes, San Diego is planned on getting those updates.-Ed"

"you will see the speed increases shown in the new section of the bill before it happens."

So marketing and billing are ahead of reality? Interesting. I would have felt better if they had actually rolled out a product before they advertised or charged for it (yes, my bill saw a pretty sizable hike last month).

Never mind....I guess I'm just old.

Mind asking to see if OC will be getting it along with SD at the same time? Or is OC behind as usual?

Ive been checking this page everyday to see if it updates? It seems like they are pretty quick at changing their page to reflect the new speeds.

Sometimes too quick. They updated the Omaha page a few days ahead of the official launch. But that'd be where to find it. That or here, »ww2.cox.com/residential/orangeco···ures.cox

Nothing here in lakeside, but that does not mean much. Could be a staged roll out.

Cox reset my modem Apr 24th @ 02:49 am during the maintenance window but nothing has changed on my end, still bonding 4x4 and getting the same speeds with my SB6141.

Now there's a definitive source/statement.

I'm in your neck of the woods and I'm seeing about 32 down/25 up on Premier package. My modem's also showing 4 bonded upstream channels for the first time.

If you see 25Mbps up , that is just the Powerboost. I get the same result with speedtest.net But if you do a speed test at test.lvcm.com, you'll see that your upload speed will go back down to 2.5Mbps+ after the Powerboost.

nope - in the past I would "powerboost" up to around 8-9 Mbps on upload, then drop down to 5 Mbps. i've never seen anything like 25Mbps on upload until yesterday, nor has my modem (Arris WBM670) shown 4 bonded upstream channels like it does now.

But did it drop back down to 5Mbps or whatever from 25Mbps? I doubt it stays at 25Mbps, im talking about test.lvcm.com

Did you choose the 1min and the 3min test? not the burst test.

I choose the 3 minute test
