I currently have the speedstream 5200 "Dumb bridged modem" and i've seen a few people post what they get for line rates. And i've been thinking maybe it's time to change my modem to see what my rates are.
I know on my billing statement they have me listed as having a Siemens SE567 which i've never had.
So should i just update to a SE567 or maybe get a Westall 7550 as some have posted about that, or just get something better?
I do think it's important to know what my line rates are though!
I still use the 5200 because Frontier cant mess with it. as long as your dsl plan is less than 10Mbps down the 5200 should work fine I have I think 5 or 6 modems from Frontier that they have given me over the years and have tested and compaired them to the 5200 and get the same results as far as speeds. You said you see the se567 on your bill and are getting charged for it $6.99 I think even though you have never had this modem. Not the first time I have seen this. Lets start with you just doing speed test and see if you get what you should be getting.
I'm getting what they have my line rated at. But i wished i had an easy way to see my line rates without having to change my modem..
Borrow a friends modem and check your line.
