Here we go!I am one week away from starting a brand new job. I am exited about the job, as much as I am nervous about it. I am excited about it, because I am expecting to get more pay (+4000) then I have in my other job. It also give me a HUGE advancement opportunity. While my other job, I was dead end. I will have a couple days a week when I actually run the kitchen, something I would never get to do at my old job. I am going to have to work MUCH harder then in my other job. But the end result will be well worth the efforts. My friend (now new boss) has already said that she hopes I will take over when she retires. Wether this happens or not, It means so much for someone to actually tell me, or express to me, that they believe in me. Something I have NEVER got in my old job.
I feel like I am already ahead of the game having people believe in me. |

That sounds great D.K.! With your experience in this field I have no doubt that you will be great at running the kitchen. Always remember and never forget: It is truly better to work and beef about it than not to work at all. |

Over-confident = cocky, can set one up for failure.
A "bit nervous" sounds right. It is not a bad thing to be a little humble about a new position. Every job is different. There are always new things to learn. It sounds like you aren't going in as a know-it-all who is not open to new experience. I like that and I think your new employer will appreciate the attitude you bring with you.
Go for it, Dom. You are going to ace this. I so hope it leads to good things for your future employment. |

LOL
One thing I have NEVER been accused of is being over confidant, or "Cocky." If anything, I am very much the opposite. |

Domino, I'm still nervous going into work, and the job isn't THAT challenging. For me, it's the fact that I've lost jobs in the past and been treated very poorly by staff at some places and been punished for other people's mistakes that I now have a huge mental complex that is so insecure it causes me much misery. I understand new job jitters, but You've got a record, a proven record, and you are conscientious. |

Thank you!
Once again, thank you all for your support through my hard times this winter. I am picking up the pieces. Starting the process of rebuilding. This new job, although still seasonal. Allows me an additional 6000 over last year. My goal is to get caught up on bills NOT covered in the bankruptcy I had to go through, as well as pay off some loans from my family that helped me out. (I don't know where I would be without them helping) and maybe (hopefully) pay ahead on some things for the winter. |
