I ordered U-Verse online on April 11, 2013. Installation was scheduled for April 27, 2013 at my new home in Sunnyvale, Texas (on the east side of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex); however, on the day before, I was called by an AT&T rep and told that installation would be delayed until a "facilities issue" could be resolved. They told me that the best estimate that they could give me for installation would be May 17, 2013.
I've read some pretty depressing comments from others about extended delays. Is May 17, 2013 a realistic date for AT&T to fix these engineering issues, or should I expect to be in some sort of limbo for even longer? Thanks.
Who knows right? If you have to have internet access before then, get something else temporarily.

I'm having the same issue right now with them installing my Uverse right down the road in Forney. I had IP-DSL, and in order to get "regular" Uverse, I had to cancel my IP-DSL and make a new order. The nearest install date was 2 weeks away! As of right now I'm one week into it.
When I called to check on my install time (I forgot it) they couldn't give it to me as they had facilities issues. When I finally reached a tier 2 rep, (I think she was one) she told me that I only had one usable pair running to my house and they have to get another pair to me. Needless to say, mine & 2 of my neighbor's yards have holes in them...
I'm hoping their finished by the time my install is scheduled, but I'm thinking I'll probably get the same call as you...
At least holes mean that work is being done, right? Maybe that's a good sign?[/positive spin]
So, evidently the holes mean nothing. I checked my order status again today and it says 12/31/2036. Called in they said it was on hold because of the facilities issue and that they're waiting on parts. They also said they don't know when they can install it, but as soon as the facilities issue is cleared up, they will call me and schedule an install. I'm at a loss right now....
