 neonhomerKK4BFNPremium join:2004-01-27 Edgewater, FL | I was wondering who's portal that was.....
Nether portal mechanics are simple on the x,z side.... when you throw in the y coord, it becomes a pain...
If you have a portal in the overworld, and want to link to it in the nether..... first find the coordinates of the overworld portal (stand in front of the obsidian) and figure your x and z. Now, take those #'s and divide by 8. So if your x is 456, and your z is -950, your nether portal coords to build your portal in the nether will be 57, -119. If there are no other portals really close by, then it's okay if you are off by a block or so.
Elevations are different, and I haven't played with those yet. -- "F is for Fire that burns down the whole town... U is for Uranium...... Bombs... N is for NO SURVIVORS!!!!!" Sheldon Plankton

sadly I've not had any time to get back to digging. I expect next time to login to feel like that farmer who didn't sell his 1 acre plot to tokyo airport so they just built around him. |

Nah. Noiche has a massive platform several hundred blocks away, my place is several thousand blocks away, and there is at least one "mountainside" domicile as well. It won't be as bad as you're thinking it is. -- I'll be stretching out the rhyme like gravity stretches time. |

Did anyone take the crack hor..se and put it out of its misery, or do I need to find it and try to get it in the preserve and away from the stuff that was making it float in circles? I like that name for it. If I find it again, I will tag it with that. Crazy horse is good too. |

Alright, I got lost. Darn Nether Portals. What are the coordinates to DSLRVille or the direction to it from the floating island? Gonna have to pull some gravel and place it down to have a path to follow back on the overworld so I have a better grasp on where it is. Who's underground farm is by that portal? It's nice looking even if it didn't have a bed. So what's up with the torches by the water by the village out there? I followed the flow down to a pitch black cave and got blasted by a skeleton and a creeper in there. |

"DSLRVille" is very close to that point.

It's currently abandoned which is why there's no bed.....if you want to move in and take it over, feel free. It has wheat, melon, sugarcane, pumpkins, potatoes, carrots, cows, and I was working on getting chickens going. It also has an obsidian generator.

Man, the amount of times I've died, or jumped off my island to die, cause I was low on food....and there's an abandoned farm right there O.o
I'm pretty sure I logged out while I was hidding in the top of a tree, in the middle of the night, in the middle of nowhere, which is a place that I've never been before....oh god ; / |

We pretty much finished our house on top of the mountain South of the common area across the water. Found a HUGE abandoned mine nearby and have been clearing that out - found tons of diamonds, and have been using a Fortune II pick to get them out.
Come on by - we have a big pool and hot tub (heated with LAVA!) out back suitable for a pool party! -- ON DELETE CASCADE |

I went into your cave system when I went exploring the other day. I actually got lost with all the tunnels you had in there. Nice place though. I also got lost with all the paths in the trees too. doesn't help that it's in jungle and there are lots of trees everywhere. I altered the road to Bolt's place and moved it over to the main road and made it look the same. I'm going to have to deforest a few biomes to make enough fence to close it off. I still have to finish the fence in the commons too. I started out towards the floating island with the other main road as well. I don't think I will push the road out into the jungle. It looks too wild and I don't want to mess that up. Besides that, I believe that most of the area has paths that would be in the way. I still need to leash some of those ocelots out there. |

neonhomerKK4BFNPremium join:2004-01-27 Edgewater, FL | After you tame them, you have to put a saddle on them to ride them.
Saddles are found in dungeons, and I think you might be able to trade with villagers for them... |

fnord76 join:2002-05-14 Troy, IL kudos:1 | How do you know when they are tamed? When they don't rear when you try to mount them? I found 2 saddles and diamond horse armor from the zombie spawn chests. |

RayMahnahmahnaPremium join:2001-04-02 Mesa, AZ | They are tamed when they show hearts and stop throwing you off. Then you can saddle them. If anybody needs a saddle or some horse armor, we have a chest full by our front door. (-142/678)

If you need trees, go to my underground area, and in the chests at the top of the stairs, I have like 2 stacks of saplings. Take all you want and plant trees in the common area (or wherever you want) and chop for wood. I also have tons of bones in there not being used, so you can take those and make bonemeal to speed the whole process up.
Honestly, everything in my underground area is up for grabs pretty much. I don't "need" any of it, and just grab what I want when I feel like it. So if you need any of the supplies down there, grab what you want. If you take from the underground farm I have, just be sure to replant what you can, since that's my only farm at the moment. fnord76 join:2002-05-14 Troy, IL kudos:1 | Thanks, I used all the dirt and cobblestone in there and all in the warehouse to make the road out to Bolt and the start you your base. I need to warp back out there and get teh coord to see how close this road is going to be. My intent for these roads is to put rails in the middle and make a shuttle to everyone. It will start right at the main crossroads and go out in each direction.
I am trying to make some auto lights at the crossroads but am having touble with them turning on in the day instead of night. I tried one out that used a daylight sensor, sitcky piston, redstone block, redstone lights, and blocks to cover the process which worked but was way too bulky. I'm trying to slim it up to just 1 post and a light with the junk underground but can't get the piston reversed. |

OK so I was reading up on the redstone circuits and the torch works as an inverter, But I had a simple circuit set up that did not work. redstone block held by sticky piston with a circuit to a torch with a circuit to the daylight sensor. I assume the circuit has to be built in a certain order because when I was taking off/replacing the stuff I would meet with various results. I could not get the torch to switch off when the power was applied to it from the daylight sensor. I saw the sensor power the circuit on and off and when the torch was placed in the pattern, it would just power the circuit constantly. i then wound up having the piston not coming back after a while because the redstone block wound up powering it. I think that was when I pulled the circuit and replaced it. Does anyone know the order I need to put it down in? I thought it would be piston, circuit, block, torch, circuit, sensor. I attempted to do it over a few days and could not get it. |
