Impressive ESXi ran on those without throwing a kernal fit. I can't even get it to run on an HP DL165 reliably. |

Host on the right I loaded ESXi from flash drive. No cdrom drive. -- "Intellectuals solve problems, geniuses prevent them." Einstein |

ensure each host has 2 nics that are each on their own vswitch and don't have management traffic, use those 2 for iSCSI multi path
next after connecting to the iscsi and seeing that it sees 4 paths, set the load balancing policy to round-robin.
Now all 4 paths should be "active (i/o)"
now ssh to the host and do esxcli storage nmp psp roundrobin deviceconfig set -d naa.xxx --iops 1 --type iops
replace xxx with the UID of the storage (Its a long alphanumeric string)
this will make it go to the next path for each IO operation, as opposed to the stock of (1000) which will wait for 1000 iops before it uses another path.
Just went through this at work with a TS-569 pro and a DL380 G6 I also enabled jumbo frames on the 2 iscsi vswitches, the 2 nics on the server used for iscsi, the 4 switch ports involved (juniper ex4200) and on the qnap.
Though we're only using the qnap as a backup to store clones of production VM's in case the main sas array on the blade center were to fail. -- »www.change.org/petitions/create-···imcity-4 |

What software did you use to make that diagram of your switch ports? |

I really need to get my ESX lab up and running...maybe one day.
Nice setup. -- I'm actually not funny, I'm just really mean and people think I'm joking. |

Wish I had known about the DVswitch when I setup the cluster here, instead I just have a vswitch setup and have to manually make sure they match, to scared to mess with it now. -- »www.change.org/petitions/create-···imcity-4 |

Interesting. How do I get the DV Switch option to show up in ESXi? All I see is vSwitch creation option. -- Never argue with an idiot. Theyll drag you down to their level and beat you through experience ! |
