GameStop doesn't help
To give an anecdote, several months ago I was in a mall buying some clothing. While in the store and speaking to a customer service representative who was helping me exchange a jacket for a different size, a man rushed in a panic asking if anyone had seen his iPhone. They had not. The guy said he had been to lost and found (security) and they had not seen it either. The manager overheard him (not very difficult considering the guy practically projected it to the heavens) and told him to go to GameStop and see if they'd bought it. If a cell phone has been lost/stolen, chances are it's been sold to GameStop for cash and the person is on their merry way.
