PVC rubber piece and other PVC ?'s , is it OK?PVC rubber piece , is it OK? Or will it cause a leak? My neighbor and I installed the watch dog battery backup with sump pump.. Also there is a slit tilt from the pvc pipe to to the sump pump, will that be ok or cause a leak? Thanks |

Sump pump is low pressure so it may hold. There is a proper disconnect available that would work there. One thing that did catch my eye is the dark elbow. Is that ABS. If so, did you use transition cement/solvent? |

That will likely leak / fail over time, PVC will deform from the pressure from the clamps, it should be glued and if you need to have a section removable, you should be using a union. |

If you modified the connector that you are using then it is not ok. Go buy a new one. |

The clamps he used are made for use with PVC. They will be fine. I've used clamps like that for years and have had no problems with them.
