PVC rubber piece , is it OK? Or will it cause a leak?

My neighbor and I installed the watch dog battery backup with sump pump..

Also there is a slit tilt from the pvc pipe to to the sump pump, will that be ok or cause a leak?

Thanks

Sump pump is low pressure so it may hold. There is a proper disconnect available that would work there.
One thing that did catch my eye is the dark elbow. Is that ABS. If so, did you use transition cement/solvent?

You should have a check valve to prevent back flow.

Something like this.

Are you talking about the clamps? They should be tightened down.

See I had that but the metal bent and had to take it off, so is that still ok?

That will likely leak / fail over time, PVC will deform from the pressure from the clamps, it should be glued and if you need to have a section removable, you should be using a union.

If you modified the connector that you are using then it is not ok. Go buy a new one.

The clamps he used are made for use with PVC. They will be fine. I've used clamps like that for years and have had no problems with them.
