[modem/router] Westell 6100 & Netgear Ptosafe Router
I'm using a Netgear Prosafe VPN Firewall Fvs338. The DSL modem I'm using is a Westell 6100 from Verizon. (at my business)
The problem is when I connect the Ethernet cable to the WAN port, the network is running fine but no internet connection.
When I connect Ethernet cable through the local port, internet and network work fine but no router functions.
I have talked to Verizon tech support (for hours) and change settings (with tech guidance) on the DSL box and the router,
but still doesn't work. One thing I noticed is the IP address for the DSL box and the router are the same 192.168.1.1 Not
sure if that's the problem. One last thing, when I take the router home and set it up (using a D-Link Modem) it works great no problem
take it back to work won't work.

#2 If you have any questions, please ask.
[EDIT] #3 If desired you can also change the LAN IP of the Netgear router so that it does not start with 192.168.1 , but that is not needed to get access to the Internet.
Changing the LAN IP of the Netgear to be for example 192.168.2.1 is more related to getting into the modem combo and getting the info of how strong the DSL signal is when the modem combo is not setup to handle the public IP.
