Picture goes out when I plug my computer into network

I have att uverse. I have several computers so I have a netgear box. When I plug our main computer into the netgear switch, it immediatly makes the picture go out on the tv. Is it my NIC card?

More likely an IP conflict with the Uverse receiver. Is everything DHCP?

If you can't open it, you don't own it.

Just to make sure, you do have the u-verse receiver connected directly to the gateway correct? Not the switch?

Everything is DHCP. It'll work for 5-20 minutes and then the picture starts to mess up.
Any ideas???

Is the "Netgear box" really just a switch? Might be that it should be a NAT router in the RG DMZ to isolate TV from Internet.

I am going with also the consensus that the set top box is plugged into the switch. What is the model of your Netgear switch?
